The trip to Pas de la Casa had all the potential to be a cracker, and it was!
There were 8 of us from the Broken Cross, the same team that went to Livigno last year except Barry didnt make it so Martin took his place. As well as this team, my mate Steve (see Sauze dOulx 2003) was there with 5 others.
We arrived at Pas early on the Sunday evening, dumped our bags and headed to the obligatory Reps meeting. There we were addressed by the most obnoxious rep you could imagine, Craig was a complete git! This man really thought he was gods gift to the holiday industry. He stood there like some primary school teacher with a deep psychological problem! Suffice to say we ignored him.
It snowed on Monday which made for poor visibility. We somehow found ourselves on a black run and I took a big tumble which damaged my back. I then went on a 2 day bender to try and cure my back! All in all I spent the rest of the week being a right mard arse and the answer I seemed to give to every question was, Im sore.
From Tuesday onwards there was nothing but great snow and glorious sunshine.
Our hotel was a bit basic but okay. The bar was good and there was a band on most nights and of course Neil got up on the stage to perform. Hes pretty good and his efforts earned him a few free beers.
Steve and Marky Boy joined us whenever they could and despite the fact that Marky Boy was dressed like a painter and decorator he managed to ski quite well!
As the week went on the aches and pains began to increase and they hit a peak on Thurday when Nathan the camera man took the lads over all sorts of mad jumps!
Carl did well and stayed in ski school all week. He told us that he was doing very well and that he was parallel skiing. As it happened none of us actually saw him skiing all week! Talk is cheep methinks!
More to follow..........
