It's a better place to be!
The star of the show...
Rosie was built, fitted out and painted by Doug Moore at his Barnoldswick Workshop. Barnoldswick is on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal near Skipton.
She was the 47th boat Doug built and the 17th to be built at Barnoldswick. Work started on her in September 1990 and she was launched on the 21st of March 1991.
Rosie was first used as a hire boat and the first time she went out was in May 1991.
In late 1994 Doug sold Rosie to a Mr Lord who used Rosie for weekends away and holidays. In April 1996 Doug decided that he was pulling out of boat building.
In 1998 Mr Lord decided that he wanted a Widebeam boat (twice the width of Rosie) and he put Rosie up for sale via Harral Boat Brokerage, Whincham Wharf, Trent & Mersey Canal near Northwich. I spotted her in August and as I had always dreamed of owning a Doug Moore boat I just had to buy her! I part exchanged my previous boat (Tom Thumb) and took ownership of Rosie on the 19th of September 1998.
Within a fortnight I had moved on her and I love it to bits.
