It's a better place to be!

In August 1999 I decided that I
wanted to do the Four Counties Ring,
shown left, in one week. From my
start point in Middlewich this meant
100 locks and 110 miles. This is a lot a
for a bloke on his own who prefers
gentle cruising and plenty of pub
stops!
Anyway I did it (nearly died of thirst
in the process!) and whilst I got a
great feeling of satisfaction it
reminded that boating is all about
slowing, meeting people and chilling
out.
I will do the Four Counties again
sometime but I will take a fortnight
and stop at some of the places I
whizzed through on this trip.
